Lewis McDonald Grizzard, Jr. (1946-1994), author, humorist, syndicated columnist and stand-up comedian, grew up in Moreland, Georgia (Coweta County). He was sports editor of the Athens Daily News while he was a student at the University of Georgia, executive sports editor of the Atlanta Journal, and briefly sports editor of the Chicago Sun Times.
